3. Pour hot water in one of the water bottles.
4. Pour the cold water in the other water bottle.
5. Open the canola oil or any other kind of oil it doesn’t matter and the vinegar or apple vinegar.
6. Open the box of alka seltzer.
7. Then open the little bottles of food coloring.
8. Pour equal amount of the canola oil in the bottle with the hot water.
9. Then pour the same amount of canola oil in the water bottle with cold water.
10. Take one of the colors of food coloring that you choose and put it in the water bottle that has hot water.
11. Then take the other coloring of food coloring and put it in the bottle that has cold water.
12. Then you take one tablet of alka seltzer and break it in half.
13. After you broke the alka seltzer in half put half of it in the bottle with the hot water.
14. Then take the other half and put it in the bottle with cold water.
15. After you put each half of alka seltzer in each bottle you watch them sink to the bottom.
16. After they start to dissolve it will make the food coloring move up and down.
17. After the food coloring starts moving you observe very closely and see which moves the fastest.
18. After you have observed very closely you then write down what you noticed.
19. If it didn’t work the first times make another one but add a little more water to it or vinegar.
20. After that then you need to try it with apple vinegar but add all the same amount of oil and water and half of alka seltzer.
21. After you have tested it record how long the food coloring moved up and down.
