The hypothesis was proven wrong because when I put the alka seltzer in the bottle with the cold water it started to move the food coloring when I first put it in. After I put the alka seltzer in the water bottle with the warm water it didn’t work at first but the second time it didn’t start right away. The average time it took for water to activate food coloring is 5 seconds for cold water and 1.6 seconds for hot.
